How is chenille fabric made?
The process of making chenille fabric has changed over time. Tools that used to be handcrafted and crafted. But since the establishment of Chenille International Manufacturing Association, the production process has been modernized.
Despite the many changes that have taken place in this fabric production, the basic principles remain the same. Here's how to make the chenille fabric:
A staple yarn is placed between two core yarns and all three yarns are twisted together
The yards are twisted together to form a pile, and to hold the pile together, low-melt nylon is applied to the core
After that, the yarn is properly steamed to keep it intact
Once the yarn is ready, weaving begins, followed by the chenille fabric
Adding low-melt nylon to the core is a recent invention, as it keeps the fabric free from bare patches. Prior to this, the yarn was simply twisted and steamed.
