I made waiter aprons and the fabric is strong yet soft. It is polyester and is said to be water resistant. Hope it sticks! It does fall apart quite a bit before you zig-zag or zig-zag the cutting edge. This isn't flimsy fabric; it's decorative weight poly canvas.
